Dear Dogwood Parents,
We are in our final week of school. I just want you to know that I have enjoyed this year with the children. They have been awesome, and I am confident that they will have a wonderful first grade year also. Thanks
for everything that you have done and all the support you have given. I look forward to seeing each and everyone of you on Tuesday evening. The play will begin at 7:00pm and the graduation will follow. Please have your child back in my room around 6:30. Our
field trip was canceled due to the weather, but we have rescheduled for Thursday. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing everyone Tuesday evening.
Reading: Imagine It! unit titled Teamwork
The students will learn about the importance of working together. The benefits of creating friendships with other people and helping one another overcome obstacles. They will enjoy reading stories about teamwork.
Writing: We will work on lowercase q and r.
Math: We will begin a new unit on measurement. We will be using paperclips to measure things around the room.
Science: Learning different ways to be green.
Social Studies: We will learn why it is important to remember Memorial day.
Please remember to use IXL at home. The children love to do it, and it is a great resource.
