Admissions Process
Our goal is always to make the admissions process as smooth as possible for our parents and students, thereby ensuring a seamless transition into the new school environment. Below you will find a step-by-step guide to our Admissions process:
Step 1: Tour the campus
Experience the Shreiner difference. See the beautiful campus equipped with 9 playgrounds, 2 basketball courts, and 2 swimming pools. Observe the students at work in the classrooms and at play in the school park. And watch first hand how the teachers and staff interact with students with kindness and genuine care, as though they are an extension of your family.Step 2: Testing
To ensure that your child is a good fit academically with Shreiner, we perform pre-admission testing. This testing helps evaluate and place your child appropriately at Shreiner Academy.Each student is tested individually. The testing takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Shreiner uses standardized tests that measure your child in comparison to other children of the same age. We will notify you with the results. Due to the volume of admissions testing, Shreiner does not review or analyze test results with parents.
3K-4K Students
Testing is around basic concepts. The child is presented with pictures and then asked questions about them such as:
• Which boat is bigger?
• Which pencil is longer?
• Which farmer has more chickens?
Shreiner Academy uses the Bracken Basic Concept Scale for the testing, followed by a personal interview and observation session.
Lower and Middle School Students
Testing focuses on traditional academic subjects including mathematics, reading comprehension, and spelling.
Shreiner Academy uses the Wechstar Individual Achievement Test for evaluation. It is followed by a personal interview.
Step 3: Transcripts
For transfer students, transcripts from previous school are requested.Step 4: Committee Review
A committee review is conducted to ensure that Shreiner Academy is the best match to meet your child’s needs. The acceptance committee will notify you, the parent, by mail with the results of the testing within seven to ten days.Ready to get started?
