About Shreiner

In 1918 the Shreiner Family founded their first private school, The Church Farm School, in Paoli, Pennsylvania. Classes were originally conducted in a barn and over the years the campus grew to over 1700 acres.

In 1969, a branch of the Shreiner family, Harold and Marion Shreiner, moved to Atlanta and established a school. In 1980 construction of the Shreiner Academy campus on Terrell Mill Road began. Over the following years, the school’s remarkable growth and imaginative curriculum were nationally recognized.

Over the years, each school creates its own style and character. This is certainly true of Shreiner Academy over the years.

One of the concerns about private schools is the high pressure and intensely competitive atmosphere created by many schools. These are often mammoth schools where individuality has been replaced by conformity and where intimacy and nurturing have been replaced by regimentation and regulation.

Each year we receive from these schools a number of transfers who are attracted to Shreiner Academy’s refreshingly different small school environment. Shreiner Academy is worlds away from the traditional private school with a kinder and more friendly approach to education.

The East Cobber described Shreiner Academy as a “Nice school for nice kids.” We think that is true.

Small class size is one of the hallmarks of a Shreiner education. The average class size in many private schools in Atlanta is 23. At Shreiner it is 15. The school’s small class size creates a much more personal, intimate and nourishing environment.

At Shreiner, we aren’t just teaching kids, we’re developing minds, strengthening bodies, and giving kids a remarkable experience for their lifetime.

There is a synergy at Shreiner Academy between you, your child, our teachers and our staff.  It’s in our accredited curriculum, teaching style, beautiful campus, and enrichment experiences including guest speakers, field trips and more. You see the excitement that individualized instruction creates. You feel the warmth in the small class sizes.  You smile at the love of what feels like an extension of your family.

Shreiner Academy is a place where early preschool through 8th grade students don’t just come to learn.  They come to grow.  They come to thrive.  They come…to be remarkable.

Shreiner Academy’s learning environment is very unique when compared to most schools. As an educator, it is incredible to have such flexibility within my classroom! The small class size truly allows me to teach to each student and his/her needs.
